Visual Alpha leads several strategic initiatives to position Tokyo as a leading global financial center. We are seeking high-performing students from top universities to join us as Project Manager Assistant Interns. This is an onsite role in Tokyo for a minimum of 6 months (12+ months strongly preferred).
Contribute directly to a high-visibility public-sector initiative promoting Tokyo as a global financial hub
Learn from mentors with backgrounds in top-tier investment banks, insurance companies, and asset management firms
Work in a team of experts spanning technology, institutional investment, and financial market strategy
Gain experience at the intersection of finance, policy, and technology—rare exposure for a student role
Support the project manager with daily coordination, documentation, and administrative tasks
Conduct research on global institutional investors and the emerging manager landscape (hedge funds, private markets, etc.)
Schedule meetings with external stakeholders and prepare clear meeting memos
Develop and maintain content for external websites and project communications
Excellent coordination, communication, and follow-through
Strong research abilities using online sources and professional databases
Solid analytical and presentation skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent English (native-level preferred)
Japanese language skill is a plus; ability to read/write efficiently using translation tools is sufficient
Founded in 2019 in Tokyo, Visual Alpha is a fast-growing team of ~30 professionals from diverse international backgrounds. English is the primary internal language, while our client-facing teams operate fluently in Japanese. We regularly host interns from leading universities worldwide.
